Rate My Rental (“we,” “us,” “our”) provides a platform where renters can search properties, read reviews, and share their own experiences. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information in connection with our website and related services (the “Service”).

- Location and device data. When you use “near me,” maps, or directions, your browser or device may share approximate location or coordinates so we can show nearby listings and map tiles. IP address, browser type, and general usage data help us secure the Service and understand performance.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies (and similar tools from our vendors) for session management, security, preferences, and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve search, maps, reviews, and moderation workflows;
- Prevent spam, abuse, and fraud, including rate limits and duplicate-review detection;
- Respond to support requests and enforce our Terms of Use;
- Comply with applicable law and protect our users and the Service.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your reviews to train third-party AI models.
Third-party services
The Service relies on vendors that process data under their own terms, including for maps (e.g. Mapbox), authentication (e.g. Kinde), hosting (e.g. Vercel), and database or backend infrastructure you configure. When you interact with their widgets or APIs, their privacy notices apply in addition to this Policy.
Retention
We retain account and review data as long as needed to run the Service and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account where supported by our product flows; some content may remain in backups for a limited period.
Security
We use industry-standard measures appropriate to the nature of the Service. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International users
If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our vendors operate.
